# If you like bluegrass music, or feel like doing some country dancing, or just want to relive Woodstock with a bunch of us 30-year-old ex-hippies, you don't want to miss the Black Mountain Spring Festival this coming weekend (May 17-19). Music starts sometime on Friday, dancing continues nearly all night. Swim in the lake, rent a canoe, dance all night, or just lie in the sun and listen to the music (Johnny Gimble, Jethro Burns, Mike Seeger, and do you really care who else is playing ... it's just plain fun). Happens at Camp Rockmount in Black Mountain, North Carolina (30 miles east of Ashville). Bunks are available in the bunkhouses (this place is a boys' camp during the summer months), but much more fun to bring a tent. Good food, vegetarian and otherwise, served at the dining hall. Bring the kids, your fiddle to jam on, and anyone else you like (no dogs). $25 per person includes festival admssion + camping for the weekend ($15 for kids under 18). For more info, call or write: PO Box 216 Black Mountain NC 28711 (704) 669-2456 (I meant to get this posted earlier, but you know how it is, end of the semester and all that.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hot Licks to you, - Jim
