[fa.tcp-ip] 4.2UNIX on VAX as a gateway

Has anyone done any measurements of throughput with a VAX750 or VAX780 running
4.2bsd UNIX acting as a gateway between two local nets? I am interested
in knowing what kind of performance can be had in either packets/sec or
(bits,bytes)/second. Operationally I would be using a dedicated MicroVAX II
for this service (the rational is that they are cheap and can get reasonable
service in the field). I would like to know what the duration of the test
was, what the media and interfaces of the local net's were etc....
