Try the Echo Protocol (RFC 862) on port 7, the Discard Protocol
(RFC 863) on port 9, and the Character Generator Protocol (RFC
864) on port 19.
Ah, such things do exist with assigned numbers. I just checked and
Symbolics does in fact implement all of these. I feared we didn't. Is
a TCP implementation considered complete without these? My point is,
they aren't generally useful except for debugging and performace, and
many people may not have bothered.
