#N:harpo:18500004:000:359 harpo!ber Jul 29 13:46:00 1982 I tried to copy a note from net.general to net.jokes as a response. So I did 'c'. It said where to. I said 'net.jokes'. It said copy as note or response. I said 'r'. I gave me the limited index. I chose note 439. It said edit response. There was no text. I ended up writing the note to a file and doing it by hand. What did I do incorrectly? brian

#R:harpo:18500004:uiucdcs:23300009:004:558 uiucdcs!essick Jul 30 09:41:00 1982 To copy text, one has to use "C" instead of "c". This is to be consistent with "w" and "W". The capital letter usually performs some enhanced function: "w" - "W" The capital includes the current text "c" - "C" Includes the text (maybe this should be changed so that both of them copy the text?) "m" - "M" include the text. "p" - "P" ditto. some that aren't quite as consistent: "e" - edit the title of a note. "E" - edit the text of a note/response. "d" - toggle director message status "D" - delete the current text (if permissions allow it).
