I have a small problem in that when I check for the presence of notes,
I get the message "there are new notes", but when I go looking for them,
using the autoseq approach, I do not get any notes displayed, only a
list of the topics that I have set up.

The culprit seems to be not in the notes system, but rather in my
NFSEQ which called for the notesfile "net.unix-wizards". This is
a long name ( > 14 characters) and when truncated to "net.unix-wizar",
it performs ably and gives no phantom notes.

Seems like a bug to me nonetheless.
