I have long since been convinced that the soul of Mark Twain is alive, well, and hanging-out in Garrison Keilor's body. I grew up in Small Town America (Ardmore, Oklahoma, to be exact) and all of my relatives came from even Smaller Towns. The Letter from Home segment is very real to me because I remember people like the ones he describes. Garrison has a magic ability to capture an essence of people, no matter how large their home was. Another thing I like is his willingness to discuss what we all feel sometimes, but even the most ESTian among us is too shy to talk about such things in public. In a lighter vein, I would like to start a "Favorite Commercial Survey." Since there are so few of us, just submit your opinions to the newsgroup. I'll be glad to start. I think my favorite was the series for the Jettison Brothers Junk Intervetion Counselling. I don't know who wrote that, but they captured the true essence of most people - habitual junk collectors - and cast the light of satire on the entire self-awareness- help-abuse chic. (I am not attacking the self-help people, but it certaily was funny.) Fess-up all you biscuit eaters, -Munchin' Mike O'Dell
