This line reserved for not-so-shy news bugs... For any of you klezmer fans out there (WHAT?), the Klezmer Conservatory Band invades Lake Wobegon on March 24th, as PHCs only musical guest for the evening (and a fifteen piece band does constitute an invasion) in their third appearance on the show. The KCB plays "klezmer music" which was was the "disco" of the Eastern European Jewish immigrant population in the 20s and 30s. Members of the band will also present some musical number with the trio, Peter Ostrushko, and Garrison. The Klezmer Conservatory Band has a record out on Vanguard Records, entitled "Yiddishe Renaissance" (VSD79450), and a second album due out in mid-Feb. entitled "KLEZ!", with liner notes by the world's tallest radio comedian. ...linus!vaxine!chb
