[] This Wobegonian certainly doesn't mind square dancing and folk music annoncements here until ya'll get your own area (if ever). Make yourself at home; have a biscut -- heavens their tasty! -- Brad Blumenthal {No reasonable request refused} {ihnp4,ctvax,seismo}!brad@ut-sally

As long as we're using this group for folk festival announcements, I thought I'd post mine. The San Francisco Folk Music Club and Folk Music Center (aka Ploughshares) will be presenting the 8th Annual Free Folk Festival on Sat June 9 (11am-10pm) and Sun June 10 (11am-9pm) at Fort Mason, Building C (all 3 floors), Laguna & Marina Sts, San Francisco. This is an all-volunteer event - no one pays and no one gets paid. There will be workshops, concerts, and dancing all day. Bring your instruments - there's plenty of jamming. The list of performers is long, and includes almost everyone in the local folk scene. The list includes Dick Oxtot's Golden Age Dixieland Jazz Band, the Berkeley Mandolin Ensemble, John Palme, Redmond O'Connell, Out of the Rain, Faith Petric, Van Rozay, the Android Sisters, Ellis Island, Reet Petite and Gone (a hot new swing band whose debut is this Friday (6/1) at Ploughshares in the same building - don't miss them), and yours truly (I'll be doing a concert spot on Saturday at 1:20, as well as playing for some of the dances). -- David Brown (415) 945-2199 Varian Instruments 2700 Mitchell Dr. Walnut Creek, Ca. 94598 {zehntel,amd70,fortune}!varian!david
