I thought I'd send in a comment, both to clear my conscience and to generate traffic in this group. I had posted an item several months ago that said, in effect, that PHC was too long at 2-hours' length, because "whimsy wears thin" (or words to that effect). I'd like to retract that statement. I was wrong. I still put PHC on tape and tend to listen later to the parts of it I don't or can't hear when it is broadcast. However, I failed to realize (as a new listener) how much of the program is music. The humor, whimsical or not, is so leavened by the music that it does not "wear out" over the two hours. In fact, I wish for more of it (mainly the ad parodies, my favorites). Now, on another note, does anyone know if National Public Radio is coming out with a new series of the "Bob & Ray Show"? This airs locally just prior to PHC, and it seems like the shows being broadcast now are three- or four-time repeats. Also, does anyone know if the Ken Nordine programs (Word Jazz and Now, Nordine) are going to either be recycled and rebroadcast nationally, or if any new episodes are being produced?
