You mean I'm not alone?! There are other old folkies out there?! Fantastic! I keep waiting for the next folk revival to start. Can't be too far off. Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie are on the concert circuit again, as is Ronnie Gilbert. Peter, Paul, and Mary are doing things again. '60s nostalgia is coming to be in. What I'd really like to see is a revival of the '60s style coffee houses ('50s were ok too, if you like jazz). There used to be dozens in L.A., now there aren't any. A few evolved into other things (eg: The Ice House, and The Blah Blah) but most just closed up shop and vanished. I don't know anywhere around here where you can just show up with an acoustic instrument, buy a cup of {your favorite coffee drink here}, and jam all night while sitting around a fireplace. My fantasy is to open a place like this. Trouble is startup costs would be heavy and doing much better than break even unlikely for at least the first year or two.
