In net.news.groups was recently posted an article which I show partially below: >2) There is currently no mod.wobegon. I'm willing to volunteer to moderate >this critical group on the network. I'm suprised we've lasted this long >without the amazing volume of that group overwhelming our modems. > >Your humble servant, > ^ chuq > | > | > *snicker* >-- >From the Department of Bistromatics: Chuq Von Rospach >{cbosgd,decwrl,fortune,hplabs,ihnp4,seismo}!nsc!chuqui nsc!chuqui@decwrl.ARPA To which I mailed back: Hi Chuq, Please realize that net.wobegon is read faithfully by us shy persons who are well aware that we rarely have anything worthwhile to say, but take the next step and don't say anything! I must reluctantly agree with the non-need for net.wobegon, and its removal will sadden me, but won't move me to wrath. However, if you can see your way clear to let us quiet, retiring folks have our little corner of the world, we will all be appreciative. Shyly, Lindsay Lindsay Cleveland (...{ihnp4|mcnc|sdcsvax|clyde}!akgua!glc) AT&T Technologies/Bell Laboratories ... Atlanta, Ga (404) 447-3909 ... Cornet 583-3909

shy people of the net -- unite! don't let them nuke net.wobegon! We need somewhere to subscribe where it is more valued to read and be silent than to flame. BTW: does anyone know a PHC outlet for the Sulivan Co. NY area? WNYC FM and AM just don't make it into the foot of the Catskils. Is there a station in the Albany area? Help!?! I may go through Garrison withdrawl if I don't find a new way to listen (SOON!). very shyly, joe.

I favor the quiet wobegon group. Sometimes you have something to say, and sometimes...well, you know.
