[net.wobegon] What is net.wobegon for?

dwight@timeinc.UUCP (Dwight Ernest) (04/06/85)

I tried to send this via mail, but ihnp4 told me that
system 'moscvax' was unknown to them.
-----
net.wobegon is for people who like to listen to -- and talk about--
a program that's broadcast on the American Public Radio Network
(or sometimes on Nationalk Public Radio, but it's CARRIED by
APRN) called The Prarie Home Companion (PHC, for short). It's
probably THE best program that's on the radio right now.
No kidding. It's a comedy/variety/storytelling show that's
broadcasted in most areas between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday
evenings. In NYC (I forgot where you are), you can hear it
on WNYC-FM at that time, 93.9 MHz. Let me know if you need
more info.

I would make no comment except that I've already seen this a couple of times.
In my dictionaries, they spell the word that means "A tract of grassland;..."
as 'Prairie', not 'Prarie'. I could be wrong, of course, and they have spelled
it the same as the show's title...
