My local NPR station KUT-FM in Austin,Texas is having the bi-annual fund raiser right now. In between answering phones I found out that the station is having a very rough time renewing the terms with American Public Radio to carry APHC for next year. APR folks want the stations to broadcast the show "live". The show is carried here from 9-11 p.m. saturday night. We have a very popular show called Twine Time from 6-9 p.m. and have All Things Considered from 5-6 p.m..So in short we may have to give up APHC if do not carry it live. I personally would like to have it live (because 9-11 p.m. slot has virtually wiped out my social life),but giving it up totally will be a fatal blow for addicted fans like me. My question to fellow wobegonians : Do you have a similar problem in your area? Have you heard anything about it? Do you know if GK has something to do with all this? I wonder what will we shy persons in Austin do without APHC? Atul Arya Dept. of Petroleum Engineering Univ. of Texas at Austin P.S. : All times above are local times. (CST or CDT)

Obviously, at least the later one must be taped. You might want to point out to the NPR people that KQED-FM in San Francisco broadcasts a taped version of the show. -- Jeff Lichtman at rtech (Relational Technology, Inc.) aka Swazoo Koolak

In San Diego PHC is aired twice on the same station (WPBS). It is aired live at 3:00 on Sat and at 12:00 noon on Sunday. - Andy Bindman

Locally, we have a relatively pleasing arrangement of times for PHC; it is snet out live at 1800 saturday (local time = E[SD]T), with a repeat at 1500 sunday. I assume that for sites on the coast it is always delayed so that it doesn't happen during the afternoon. -- Tanner Andrews, KI4PV

In the Washington DC area, recently WETA started airing it not only from 6PM-8PM E?T Saturdays (live), but also 1PM-3PM Sundays, for those of us foolish enough to miss it the night before. Oh frabjous day! The Annapolis station only carries it Live. Joe Yao hadron!jsdy@seismo.{ARPA,UUCP}
