[net.wobegon] Why is the "Bishop of Brainerd" funny?

Well, whatever. I was last there with some Boy Scouts from Omaha in '68.
We were on our way to Eli for a canoeing trip. 100 miles, huh? And it's
Babe, not Abe, huh? Come to think of it, naming a blue ox Babe is the same
sort of humor as installing a bishop in Brainerd. Think what this sort
of humor could do for the US if it were to spread to Hollywood (as in-
evitably it will). No more Hollywood Hype! Understatement will be the
only way to communicate. No more of those sickening, insincere, Hollywood
Hugs for the camera. Gone with the Wind would be billed as a "Pretty Good
Little Story".
