A number of people have sent mail asking "Ah, but what if you were an infinitesimal width disc?". As it happens, I am *not* an infinitesimal width disc, and so I had not initially considered that variation on the problem. I suspect, however, that it would be determined by such factors as : how heavy the rainfall is your height (or diameter, for all you discs out there) whether the rain is falling vertically or at an angle how fast you can run. (I find running at relativistic speeds no more implausible than being a disc).
