[net.physics] Papers to read on Bell inequalities

From: Alan R. Katz <KATZ@USC-ISIF>

Ron,

A good paper to read which does not require alot of quantum mechanics and
also reports on one of the latest experiments is:

"Loophole Closed in Quantum Mechanics Test", Science, Vol 219
7 January 1983, page 40-41 (abstract: "The violations of
Bell's inequality predicted by quantum mechanics can no longer
be attributed to communication between the parts of the
	 experimental apparatus")

The original Bell paper is somewhat readable and affords some understanding
even if you don't get all of it:

"On the Einstein Podolsky Rosen Paradox", J. S. Bell,
	 PHYSICS Vol 1, No 3, pp 195-200 (1964)

A later paper:

J.S. Bell, Reviews of Modern Physics, Vol 38, No. 3, page 447
	(July, 1966)

And last but not least (actually it was first by many years), the original
paper on the EPR "paradox":

Einstein, Podolsky, Rosen, Physical Review 47, page 777 (1935)

Hope you find some of these interesting,

				Alan
