[net.physics] Gypsy Moth As An Item of Interest In Physics

doug@arizona.UUCP (Doug Pase) (11/02/83)

The gypsy moth is not a good example of evolution. As a matter of fact,
both varieties (black and white) were in existence before the turn of the
18th century. The darker variety was rare, but not unheard of. This
seems to be a good example of natural selection, not evolution. It didn't
evolve, it just became more common.

*Disclaimer* This arguement neither supports nor refutes either evolution
or creationism.

ps. Shouldn't this be someplace else, like net.religion.vs.biology or
net.Evolution.vs.Creationism perhaps? ?:-)
