[net.physics] photon decay

Since virtual particles are allowed to pop out of nowhere as long as
they disappear soon enough, it seems plausible that a photon could
collide with one of these.  As long as the observable debris had the
same net charge, energy, momentum, etc as the original photon we could
have no cause for complaint, right?
