My original family name is Sarfatti, deriving from Rabbi Solomon Ha-Zarfati of Troyes, France 1040-1105. This is According to David Padwa, president AgriGenetics corporation, Santa Fe N.M. at the 1980 AAAS meeting in San Francisco [private communication]. [See also Robert Anton Wilson's new book "Right Where You Are Standing" for an account of my wierd role at that meeting with "The Amazing Randi"] My mother dropped the "i" on my birth certificate on September 14, 1939 because of our connection to Margherita Sarfatti who was Benito Mussolini's lover and his aide in fascist government until 1938 when the Nazi's eliminated her for being Jewish. My Father, Hyman Sarfatti, restored my real name officialy in the early 1970s when I was becoming more publicly known. ------
