[net.physics] Physics Prelim Problems

cmsj@ihuxm.UUCP (Chris Jachcinski) (02/16/84)

I know the Physics prelim problems stated thus far on the net
have been of the no pencil and paper type, but this one does
require a small scrap of paper and a writing implement of your
choice:

Everyone knows about sunburn. Everyone also knows that you
cant get sunburned by sitting at a closed window, regardless of how
much light is coming in through the glass. Using these two bits of information,
estimate Planck's constant. No reference material may be consulted.

                             Enjoy!

We should all be eternally grateful that the solid state of water is
less dense than the liquid state (unlike most materials). Why?
