None of the answers for the question "why clouds are white" got to the core of the matter. Obviously they scatter light better than their surroundings -- why (Rayleigh scattering is only part of it)? Hint: estimate an upper limit on the size of a water drop in a cloud. What would you see as you looked at a cloud whose water drops were increasing in size through this limit?
