(Hi Nigel, Indeed I believe I do remember you.) You are of course quite correct about the possibility of avoiding the singularity in spinning charged black holes. I did not mention this in my article because highly charged black holes are very unlikely to exist in nature as you are undoubtedly aware. Do you know what the solution for a charged but not spinning hole looks like? I either never knew or have forgotten. Ed Turner astrovax!elt
