[net.physics] The Aspect experiment

The Aspect experiment (a) was performed, and (b) showed Bell's inequality
to be violated (which is the outcome predicted by quantum mechanics).
It verifies the math of quantum mechanics, not any of the interpretations.
Any interpretation consistent with the math will be happy with the results.
This includes the many-worlds interpretation as well as the Copenhagen.
What the Aspect and similar experiment proves is that any correct physics
cannot at once deny action-at-a-distance and superluminal causality.

The neat thing about the Aspect experiment, if I recall correctly, was
that which measurement to take on the photon was decided _after_ the photon
was emitted and on its way.

There are some more recent British experiments attempting to cause quantum
state changes in a (macroscopic) superconducting ring--a more dramatic
superluminality and violation of common sense. I believe Josephson of
junction fame may be associated with it. Does anyone know the prognosis
or outcome?
