It's my (quite possibly flawed) understanding of some of the results of
experiments to test QM (or not) prove that it's not just that we don't know
the value of some hidden parameters, but that there can't be any hidden
variables (due to the outcome of some experiments similar to those which
test the Bell inequalities.
