My observations on road trash is that it rarely exceeds a car height, and most often saltates up the hood. And it has its greatest kinetic energy coming upward before the first hit. Ergo, I'd rather have my ski tops down to get scratched than damage those lovely bottoms that I Ptex'd, sanded, waxed and scrapped all night long. Of course, I'm assuming you don't park in a cave for falling rock & ice. > > Some people also have strong feelings about which end of the > car the tips should protect. > Paul, seems that priorities are backwards if the skis are protecting the car. The object is to get to the slopes with ski gear unscathed. -- Quite sincerely, ...still waiting for the electrician, Dennis Kodimer or someone like him. uucp: ...{decvax,hao,ihnp4,seismo}!noao!terak!dennis phone: 602 998 4800 us mail: Terak Corporation, 14151 N 76th street, Scottsdale, AZ 85260
