RE: bending the blade - my guess is that temperature has nothing to do with it = what is happening is that small ammounts of creep are being removed by the process of drawing the blade beneath the foot just as a piece of paper can be uncurled by drawing it over the edge of the table. RE: a perpetual motion machine - I HAVE ONE! (DAMN I'M GOOD!) REALLY! A GROUP OF US AT MIT INVENTED IT! Unfortunately we never could agree among us how large to build it and hence it has been neglected. I'll be glad to tell you how it works however and perhaps someone will help me figure out how large it ought to be. Before I do this I want to have a few SERIOUS VOLUNTEER CRITICS who are credible - i.e. shoot it down, Please!
