How you would find this out is another matter, probably by measuring the black-body radiation! Anyone have any ideas on the possible black-body temp of a neutron star? (as I keep my Sci Ams at home and consequently can't refer to them). The business about there being no electrons around - any old particle can emit/absorb a photon.
