[net.physics] General Physics Problem

chongo@nsc.UUCP (Landon Noll) (09/10/85)

The following problem is due to Kevin Romero, a friend of mine who
teaches General Physics (as a grad student) at WSU. I present it here
for your enjoyment:

	(2)	A man and a woman are standing one meter apart. The
man has one percent more electrons than protons in his
body. The woman has one percent more protons than
electrons in her body. How strong is the force of
		attraction between them:

(a). Strong enough to lift a large book.
(b). Strong enough to lift the world trade center.
(c). Strong enough to lift Mount Everest.
(d). Strong enough to lift a weight equivalent to that
		      of the earth.
(e). None of the above. The force isn't even enough to
		      lift a small mouse.
