-- If a (tennis) ball flies through the air while rotating around the vertical axis (view from above): O ---->speed <-spin it would start curving to the right (relative to the direction of movement). At least that's what I've observed 1000 times. I was trying to explain it to myself (higher-pressure area in front => more friction against the air in front) , but that scheme suggests quite the opposite - it should be curving to the left!!!
