Bjarney is one of the most likable folks you ever want to meet. He's intelligent and alert, well read and very well spoken. In fact, Bjarney's speech is so lyrical, it seems as if he's always singing. After noting his outgoing and likable personality, you notice that he is very nimble and reasonably strong. He's also patient and attentive. A native of the southwestern hill country, his tunes tend to the wild storytelling variety, set to c&w and rockabilly themes (ala dead/byrds). He was given an heirloom mandolin at an early age and treats it as his most prized possession. No one has ever deciphered the meaning of the archiac nonsense tatooed along the back of its neck. His parents died in a minor rockslide that buried their home shortly after he was given for tutelage to the wise old bard of the southwest, Bjarfola. This episode has given him a keen respect for ascertaining safety in mountainous areas. Bjarney is not a leader, but probably would be make good advisor. He is skillful with long bow and can defend himself with broadsword, but would rather reason than fight. You note that his mandolin is more accessable than any weapon, his bow more readily used than shield and broadsword. His bardic nature attracts him to obscure and arcane objects, things to which a story may be turned, rather than gold and baubles. Actually, Bjarney can be annoying in that he likes to construct epic sagas about things as mundane as rabbit stew for lunch. However, his songs and stories seemed to be a big hit at the celebration.
