Starting from Gavalin's precipitous opening of the door last week, we have: Ayudante, Lendell, Trylla, Slider, Izugami, Bjarney, and Gavalin inside the inn, and Balinor outside. Bjarney has just commented that the stranger tried to charm him, Gavalin has just opened the door, and looks mildly alfarcidal, Lendell looks confused, Ayudante looks surprised, but mostly calm, Izugami looks a bit put out about something, and Trylla and Slider are looking skeptical of the whole affair, irrespective of "side". Balinor is outside, looking at the stranger who was drawing the funny stuff on the front steps. ================================== Generally, mayhem breaks loose. About simultanously, Gavalin guestures at the stranger in the door to "stop that, and come on in!", Balinor steps up behind the stranger and suggests that he take the advice, Ayudante calls out for wine and food, to make the two "guests" comfortable, Bjarney starts to sing a most unusually soothing tune to the accompanyment of his lute, and Trylla shouts "Don't go through the door, it will hurt you!". The stranger by the door looks up in surprise at Gavalin, and then gestures in his direction, saying, "Why be so hasty? It's such a nice night?" Balinor takes this opportunity to step behind the stranger at the door. Fjosjne (whose name is pronounced "Phosgene", more or less) looks up in surprise at Bjarney, and then relaxes, and starts to nod up and down to the music. Izugami says, "Why yes, Ayudante, I should get some refreshments for us, now, shouldn't I?" and heads for the kitchen, followed closely by Trylla. Lendell still looks vaguely unmotivated. Slider disappears up the stairway at top speed, shouting something like "Be right back!". Gavalin, who is clearly not deterred by the stranger's inoffensive manner, takes a step toward the mysterious stranger at the door, and twists his left ankle. He falls to one knee, and starts cursing the inn and the innkeeper at the top of his (not inconsiderable) voice. The stranger looks back at Gavalin and says, "What a shame, you shouldn't be so hasty! Tsk! Tsk!" Balinor, who doesn't precisely like this turn of events, pokes the Stranger in the back with his shortsword, and says, "March!". Just as he does this, an arrow whizzes past Balinor's head, and buries itself in the doorframe. In the next few seconds, Slider is heard rummaging around upstairs, Izugami and Trylla converse over the clinking of glasses, and Balinor starts to march in behind the stranger, Balinor pushing a bit, probably as a result of the arrow that whizzed past him. In fact, just as he thinks of that, another arrow comes in out of the dark, and hits Balinor in the leg, causing him to take 7 Hits and hesitate briefly. Seeing this, Gavalin mentions something not usually described by its colloquial name in this mediim, reaches out, and grabs the stranger by the collar. True to form, Gavalin's ankle gives out again, and Gavalin and stranger fall into a heap on the floor. Seeing this, Balinor takes the opportunity to dive in the door, and slam it, just in time to be skewered by yet another arrow, this one in his right shoulder and doing 9 hits of damage. Balinor, who did manage to shut the door, bellows, "Trylla! It HURTS!" and sinks to the floor, holding his bleeding shoulder. At about the same time, Slider appears at the top of the stairs, heading back down, Trylla and Izugami are still in the kitchen, and Bjarney is starting to look a bit strained. (But still, thus far, singing.) Ayudante is heading for the door and Balinor. Lendell STILL sits there, doing nothing. Gavalin, needless to say, is still commenting on the genetic heritage of the floor, while trying to hold down the stranger at the same time. Fjosjne, not too surprisingly, is still nodding to Bjarney's nice little tune. Ayudante slams the latchpin on the door, and then stops moving, seemingly concentrating on something beyond the door. Slider bounds down the stairs, waving a coil of rope in his hands and shouting, "Give me a hand!" Lendell, seemingly brought out of his stupor for a few seconds, wanders over and helps Slider start tying the hapless Fjosjne. Trylla is heading toward Balinor, clutching a small object that she pulled from her robes. Balinor lays down on the floor to allow Trylla to do her thing, still bleeding (and loosing 3 more Hits fromthe bleeding, for a total of 19. ) Balinor, it should be noted, is looking mildly stricken (although still unquestionably alive and kicking). Gavalin and the stranger are still grappling on the floor, Gavalin currently trying (with some success) to keep the stranger from using his dagger on Gavalin. A "Thwup!" is heard from the direction of the door. Trylla, having reached Balinor, quickly removes the arrow (Yank!), places her hands on the wound, and starts to concentrate. Slider and Lendell are tying up Fjosjne, Slider apparantly showing his background as a rock climber(or something of that sort) in the process. Izugami comes out of the kitchen, and heads for Slider/Fjosjne with a pitcher and several mugs, muttering something about "hasty" under his breath. Ayudante stops concentrating by the door, and says quite loudly, "There are at least two more of something out there, but I'll be burnt if I know WHAT it is that's out there!" Gavalin has again managed to avoid the stranger's dagger, and has managed to get in a good blow to his/her/its chin, staggering the stranger, who seems to be putting out a bit less of a fight as a result. (Again, that "sound" is heard from the direction of the door.) Slider, who has put a few quick loops around Fjosjne's hands and arms, says "Finish this" to Lendell, and then takes off for the Gavalin/stranger confict. Izugami walks up to Fjosyne and says, "Damn! Excuse their manners, we'll get this straghtened out in a second. Want a drink?" Lendell looks somewhat oddly at Izugami and starts to mutter something under his breath. Fjosjne says, "Sure, I'm thirsty. Gee. I guess you'll have to help me." (This last while looking at his hands.) Trylla, who has stopped pressing on Balinor's wound, says, "Don't move! It will start all over if you do." Lendell takes a look at the Gavalin/Slider/stranger pile, which is still wandering around the room to the accompanyment of much yelling, starts talking to himself in a somewhat more urgent manner, and leaves Fjosjne to Izugami, who proceeds to give Fjosyne a drink of whatever's in the pitcher. <tick> Slider, Gavalin, and the stranger are still rolling around the floor. Lendell is keeping a wary eye on Izugami/Fjosyne, and still muttering to himself. Fjosjne (who has, buy this time, taken a good swallow of the beer) stops dancing, shouts something at the pile on the floor, and then topples to the floor, sound asleep. <At least...> Balinor is taking Trylla's advice, and Ayudante is standing by the door, with an occasional look of concentration on his face. Lendell suddenly seems to make up his mind, and gestures at the wrestling match on the floor. Almost immediately the stranger and Gavalin both fall asleep. (Lendell looks somewhat amused, and whispers to Slider to do something !fast!) Slider, taking advantage of the break, places his sword tip on the stranger's throat and waits patiently. Trylla grabs Gavalin, drags him off a bit, and shakes him a few times, which suffice to wake him. Gavalin immedately grasps his ankle, which is already starting to swell. The stranger wakes up and starts to slowly get up. Slider mutters "Stay where you are!". The stranger looks up and then stops moving and glares at Slider. ================================= The next moves are due by Tuesday of next week, and I will post the results before Friday morning(before New Years day).
