I have been GM'ing a game of EMAIL Diplomacy (E1985E) which has been
plagued by missed moves and dropouts. I currently have two positions in
civil disorder with a third possibly in that position. I am discouraged...
it is really sad to try and run a game when your players don't even
let you know when they want to drop out.
In PB(Snail)M games this usually isn't a problem as the players are paying
the GM by the turn as well as requiring a deposit from the player
which is only returned if the player completes the game. If a player
drops out, the deposit is split between the GM and any replacement
players for the position. Sad we can't do something like this for EMAIL.
However, I would like to propose a general policy to be followed by
any GM participating in a "Boardman Number" game, to wit: Any player
who drops without giving a one seasons notice goes on a black list and will
not be accepted as a player in any other game until he or she has
completed one (or two) games as a substitute player. Comments?
Oh yeah, I am desperate for replacements in my game... if you are willing
to play, I need replacements for Turkey and Germany and possibly Austria..
