[net.games.pbm] Abusing net.games.pbm

Previous posters have been dancing around the *real*
question. Namely, how shall we address the growing
problems presented to our society by the multitudes
of otherwise-normal adults who have an abuse problem?
Net abuse is no laughing matter.
Literally hundreds of nets now live with the secret
shame of abuse, or of a long-past incident of abuse.
Many are not able to lead normal lives.
Perhaps even more tragic are the abusers themselves.
They find themselves compelled to post fictitious
"Monopoly" moves to bulletin boards; they find them-
selves checking their e-mailboxes twice a day, looking
for news from the front when they live in a nation at
peace. They talk about things that, if one were to
look closely, do not in fact exist. Like Gary Gygax.
Or illusionists. Decades-worth of working time are
wasted in reading and writing about utterly trivial
and indeed horribly ludicrous actions. Five grown
men have admitted that they are going to leave their
wives and spend an entire weekend *indoors*, playing
modular-ref'd D & D. There is only one thing worse than
that.
They didn't invite me.

Keep posting, guys.
