Announcements: ========================================================

I regret to announce that ITALY has been destroyed. Tom Tedrick
played Italy very well for much of the game.
Jeff Hanes can no longer play and has arranged a new player
for Germany. Please welcome Geoffrey Sauerborn, also of BRL, to our game.
Note the new mailing list and make the necessary changes to your
mail alias file.
Orders for Spring 1906 are due Monday, January 13, 1986 at 7 pm
eastern standard time. Please include any press releases with your orders.
Also, I *INSIST* that if retreats/disbands are possible, that you include
potential, prioritized retreat/disband orders with your moves.

===== From Paris, France =====

General P.A. LaFayette in a speech given today in Paris, denounced the
surprize attack by Germany forces on the French homeland and the free-
nation of Belgium. General P.A. LaFayette has sent delegates to both Germany
and Austria-Hungary in an attempt to form a new alliance against the central
Europe's common threat - RUSSIA. It is hoped that the Big Three will unite
for the common good of all three nations and fight against the new evil and
menace of the "Red Commies" from Moscow. The Germany and Austria-Hungary
Empires must unite with the Free French democratic society to save Europe from
the Red menace. With those words, France declared that a peace offering had
been extended to both Germany and Austria-Hungary to end all hostilities
against each other and jion the fight against Russia.

The 7th Tours Free French forces supported by the off-shore Cherboug fleet,
advanced on the English capital of London. The Free French forces expects to
eliminate all English forces from the British Isles while the Free French
Naval forces engage the last remanents of the once Great British fleets.
The combined French naval and land forces expect to quickly defeat the
remaining British naval forces and continue its march toward Victory.

The Free French Government is preparing for the forthcoming Great War with
Russia and is expecting to recall its victorious forces from the British
Isles for the war in central Europe.

The Marseilles French fleet, which at the request of the Pope of the Roman
Catholic Church, had moved into the former Italian capital of Rome to restore
law and order to the civil unrest caused by the collapse of the Italian
government, has prepared for an anticipated invasion of Naples by the
Austrian-Hungary naval forces. The Free French government and the Pope have
again requested that Austria-Hungary government peacefully remove all its
armies and naval fleets from the Italian mainland, and return the control of
Italy to the Church and the Italian people.

France, in response to the growing civil unrest in the Mediterranean Sea area,
and the threat of war with Austria-Hungary has moved its Monaco French fleet
into Tyrrhenian Sea to protect the capital of Rome and the interests of the
Free French government in the Mediterranean region.
[editor's note: Rome has fallen to Austrian troops]

Well placed government sources now expected the British Prime Minister and
high government officials to flee to either Germany or Russia, prior to London
falling to Free French forces. It is expected that the Prime Minister will
attempt to get help to regain his homeland from French control.

===== From Berlin, Germany =====

GERMAN GOVERNMENT TOPPLED IN BLOODLESS COUP
DATE LINE BERLIN:
The German embassy ... has confirmed that the German
heads of state have been ousted in a bloodless coup. Over the past
fortnight troops of the Imperial German Army swept over the country,
arresting heads of state and prominent supporters of the former regime
of the Emperor.

POPULAR LEADER WORRIES NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES.
The always popular Hanz Heimatstadt was unanimously voted in as
the new German head of state. In his acceptance speech to the German people,
Mr. Heimatstadt promised an end to Germany's reliance on foreign goods.
He stated that Germany needs to expand to achieve an economic equality
with other nations. The German crowds cheered on, but comments like
these are giving rise to suspicions from neighboring nations. In an
attempt to calm these fears, the new German Chanceler had private
meetings with the embassadors of other european nations. It is reported
that in these meetings Hanz Heimatstadt gave assurance that Germany's
prime concern to see that there is bread on the table for its people.
And these internal affairs will tax all of Germany's attention for some
time to come.

WEREABOUTS UNKNOWN.
A statement by the current German authorities reported that the
former Emperor (sometimes known as "Mad Ludwick") has apparently escaped
arrest and fled the country. His wereabouts are currently unknown,
though eye witnesses have reported seeing a man they thought was he in
Arizona. Coincidentally the proto-type luxgery air ship "DER HINDENBURG"
has just returned from an historic test flight to the US south west and
will soon be leaving New York for Berlin. When asked if the former
Emperor had escaped on his ship, the Captain of the HINDENBURG had no
comment.

===== From Moscow, Russia =====

MOSCOW, Dec. 25, 1905. When questioned about the recent Russian
incursion into Austria-Hungary, the Czar had no comment. Other
sources intimated that the strike was a response to a secret
Austro-German alliance. The Czar's official statements continue
to denounce Turkey and Germany, while expressing concern over
	the state of French politics.
