===== From Vienna, Austria =====

Emperor Franz Josef announced that he was saddened by France's declaration of
war on Austria-Hungary-Italy, but pledged to put up a stout defense.
(Editor's note: The international community has not recognized the name
change from Austria/Hungary to Austria/Hungary/Italy)
"This French general intends to set himself up as Napoleon IV. I fear we'll
see Belgium and Holland turned into French provinces this season. If Germany
and Russia can't mend their quarrels, I'm sorry to say that this man will
probably overrun Europe like his intended namesake."

===== From Paris, France =====

FRENCH FORCES INVADE RUSSIA & CAPTURE ST. PETERSBURG!!!
In a dual attack from land and sea, the 7th Tours French army surprised the
Russia remote garrison at St. Petersburg. French forces quickly captured the
city and made preparation for an attack with German ally troops on the Russia
capital of Moscow. The Russian army in Finland is now completely surrounded
by French and German forces.

FRANCE PREPARES FOR WAR IN MEDITERRANEAN
Austria troops in Rome supported by fresh troops from Venice and Austrian
naval forces in the Ionian Sea, held off the Free French naval forces from
securing the former Italian capital. French naval forces in a daring
invasion, landed the 1st Parisienne French army on the northern coast of
Africa. The battle victorious army is expected to secure Tunis and prepare
for an invasion of Italy. The French LeHavre fleet after supporting the
invasion of North Africa is expected to sail through the Straits of Gilbrator
into the Western Mediterranean to assist naval forces in the battle against
Austria.
(Editor's note: The Austro-Hungarian Empire has secured Italy)

===== From Berlin, Germany =====

BRITISH TROOPS THROW DOWN ARMS ENDING LONG WAR
The German high command reports that the remaining few detachments of
the once mightly English Army have surrendered to German forces in
Sweden. These brave battle-wore British soldiers insisted that they
wished to stay in uniform to join Germany in her quest for a freer
world. Noting their noble intentions, the high command nevertheless
insisted these men return to their waiting wives and families back in
England. Several German luxury cruisers were commandeered by the German
government to assure the Britains a comfortable journey. On board, each
soldier received food, medication, and for the first time in five years,
a bath.

LAST REMAINING RUSSIANS KICKED OUT OF GERMANY, POLAND
In routine "mop-up" maneuvers, the Imperial German Army swept the
remaining Russian soldiers out of Poland insuring Poland's freedom for
years to come. Most of the main groups of the Russian troops left in
Silesia have been displaced, though it is thought that small numbers of
them are hiding in the hill country. These insignificant bands are
suspected of having deserted their Russian commanders and are now
roaming the country side in search of German troops in order to turn
themselves in. Unconfirmed sources in Berlin say that a secret
negotiating team has been sewing for Russian recognition of the new
Polish state. But such that recognition may not come short of total
distruction of the Russian nation.
(Editor's note: Russian units still control the German province of
Silesia).

===== From Moscow, Russia =====

MOSCOW, Jan. 24, 1907. The Czar gratefully accepts Austria as a partner
in peace. He continues to hold France as the nation closest to world
domination. And he continues to turn down German peace proposals that
demand Russian centers and large amounts of Russian home territory. The
Czar will negotiate with Germany on mutually favorable terms, but not on
suicidal ones.
