Subject: SQUIRES INSULT

FLAME - ON

I find it highly insulting that the Gamemaster (Charles S.Squires) has
suggested that my reputation is questionable. You have made an unwarranted
untruthful attack on my character by accusing me of cheating at this game
and playing Germany's move. In legal terms, that is called LIBEL since the
defamation is in writing and has been shown to or seen by others. My
reputation as an Officer in theUnited States Army is without question and
my word is unquestionable. You have questioned my character as both a
professional officer and a member of this game. How dare you make such
a suggestion and publish it over the net as well as posting it. That alone
is cause for a LIBEL suit.

Just because Geoffs and I both work for the U.S. Army Ballistic Research
Laboratory, know each other and have the same e-mail address is irrelevent to
the issue. BRL is the Army's lead laboratory in computer science and
networking. We have over 16 different computers netted togeather and have
security measures to insure the type of actions you are suggesting can not
happen. I would have to know Geoffs accounts and access codes to send out
mail for him. If there was any question to who was sending e-mail, it could
even be traced back to the machine the message was sent from. I have my
home account on BRL-SMOKE, with BRL-TGR being the postmaster for BRL and
all e-mail being sent through that machine. If I had been playing both
France and Germany, then Austria-Hungary would have been invaded long ago and
I would not need so many fleets in the North Atlantic. You have libeled my
good character and in doing so insulted my integrity and trust. What right do
you have to question my trustworthness or ethnics as well as those of
Geoffrey. We don't even work in the same branch and Geoffrey could have his
home account on any one or more of the 16 other computers, it could be
brl-bmd, brl-sem, brl-vgr, etc.

Your actions and comments are completely unjustified and an insult to everyone
in this game.

I am demanding a full apology from you to be published on this net
immediately.

William T. Dougherty
