After a number of problems interfered with decvax connections for a while, we are now back in communication but with a serious problem: there is a fair bit of traffic piled up, and decvax is running *very* slowly these days. (Part of the reason for this is that "decvax" at the moment denotes a VAX 730 -- I assume a temporary measure as part of decvax's move between buildings.) The result is that decvax's uucp, which seems to not have recent bug fixes, is too slow at making up its list of work-to-be-done-for-utzoo: our end times out, even with uucp's patience settings cranked up to ridiculous levels. Unless a miracle happens, there is no way to cure this except by clobbering all the spooled-up traffic and starting fresh. I have reluctantly asked Armando to do this.
