I have no idea why we're back to near-total absence of news. It's not
a software problem here, because there's virtually no incoming traffic
showing up in the uucp logs. Linus is having political problems, but
they were supposed to have been solved, and we *are* getting occasional
articles from them. No idea what's happening at watmath, although their
comment on the last drought was "we haven't been getting anything either".
I've asked administrators at both places what's happening; I won't know
anything until they reply. Stay tuned.

Watmath has also received nothing from clyde in the last few days. I have no idea what is going on...

The watmath people report that they haven't been getting anything either --
clyde is not calling them for some reason. No word from linus yet.

Is over - clyde just wouldn't get off the phone! He talked and talked and talked for nearly FIVE straight hours!

Well, your guess is as good as mine. We are making contact with linus
just fine, but not getting anything from them except cryptic messages
from their uux-status reporter. They've been having troubles with full
filesystems of late; this may be the result. I am prospecting for an
alternate news feed; this is getting excessive.
We're not getting much from watmath either, which may be a result of
line problems (we know there are some with their Toronto line) or of
clyde not feeding them regularly (this too has happened recently).
