Through the courtesy of Perkin-Elmer's Western Support
Group in Santa Clara, California (and the news mods which
permit a :L3: specification), we're exchanging news articles
within 2-3 hops of each end of lsuc and pesnta. This means
that many news articles from Toronto (certainly any which are
fed directly to us) will go to California right
away, thence quickly out to the U.S.; we also get articles
from California sites appearing here much more quickly.
(Recently, I've posted a few articles to the net, and had several
replies from deep in the bowels of Bell Labs within 12-24 hours -
a distinct improvement over the old 3-4 day turnaround time.)
Since the decision whether to forward news from here to pesnta
depends on how many hops it took to get here, and the decision whether
pesnta will forward to ihnp4 depends on how many hops it took
to get to pesnta, some sites may want to hook up to us and feed
locally-generated articles here directly. Drop me a line if you want to.
