[ont.uucp] Time to declare omnitor DEAD?

michael@orcisi.UUCP (05/28/87)

Omnibus Computer Graphics closed their doors on or about April 30.

Last night, their unix machine omnitor must have panic'ed its last
panic as it is no longer answering (although the modem still answers
the phone).

omnitor should probably be removed from the UUCP map.

I shut off omnitor's news feed about 2 weeks ago and there
hasn't been any mail traffic into or out of there in the same
time period. I would say that a recovery is fairly unlikely.
I wonder when they are going to have an auction :-)

omnitor has actually be answering uucp calls more recently but I think
omnitor should still be removed from the current map.

There is enough ex-Omnibus people around that we could stage a
(pre-)auction and then see if the Royal Bank would accept the winning
bids. ;-)
