The Law Society of Upper Canada machine (lsuc) has been up and
down with serious hardware problems for the last few days.
Right now we can't even get to the first step of booting it.
Might still be down for a while, but I hope not long. No mail
or news will be lost in the meantime.

The lsuc (Law Society of Upper Canada) machine is down, and
has been most of today. The main disk drive has been overheating.
I hope it will be up within a day or two, but I can't be too optimistic.
No news or mail should be lost (provided the disk doesn't become
totally unusable), but things will be delayed a bit.

lsuc was fried by a lightning hit this afternoon (Tuesday July 26). Service people have been called but we won't know till tomorrow how serious the damage is. lsuc has been down since some time on the weekend. Apparently its root
file system has been damaged and it cannot be booted. The lsuc folk are
trying to repair or restore the root file system now, but don't have an
estimate of when lsuc will be up.

lsuc (lsuc.on.ca) crashed Friday evening with a disk problem, and when rebooted, soon crashed again.
