The following was just received here in response to a similar request. Note that Penn State licenses UREP, the UNIX RSCS Emulation Program, written by John Owens, for $150 (last time I checked). With it, your UNIX(tm) machine can join BITNET and have access to that very fast, free (except for leased lines) network, and be a gateway between BITNET and UUCP yourself!
