I am trying to contact the VPIVM2 system at Virginia
Polytechnic & State University, Blacksburg, VA.
I know that this machine is on the BITNET. If someone
out there knows how i can reach it please reply.

The following was just received here in response to a similar request.
Note that Penn State licenses UREP, the UNIX RSCS Emulation Program,
written by John Owens, for $150 (last time I checked). With it, your
UNIX(tm) machine can join BITNET and have access to that very fast, free
(except for leased lines) network, and be a gateway between BITNET and
UUCP yourself! For information on joining BITNET, write

Well, actually the site name is 'uconnvm' (University of Connecticut). The way
you get it there from UUCP is do mail it to:
uucpsite!uucpsite!psuvax1!username@uconnvm.BITNET
(ie: 822 rationality)
I believe 'ucbvax' in place of psuvax1 works also but can't vouch for them.
