[net.wines] places to stay while imbibing

I have just returned from 1 week in the wine country (Napa/Sonoma
valley). I have to say a couple of things:

	1) If you are going and want to stay in a VERY NICE place
I recommend the Grape Leaf Inn. It is a bed and
breakfast inn, build in 1902. It has 4 rooms 3 with
private bath, and is expanding to 7 rooms all with
private bath by the end of the year. The inn-keepers
name is Sally, I'll send more information to those who
		want to know.

	2) I have found 2 great wineries, both SMALL and one selling out
of the winery only. Cakebreak Cellars has been around
for 10 years and I STRONGLY recommend finding the
Souvingnon Blanc. The 81 release is just plain fantastic.
The distributor for Cakebread is Shallert in L.A.

The second winery is Soda Rock. Soda rock is owned
by a couple who have been, in there words, "fighting
for 43 years, and loving it". I recommend the Charlies
Country White/Charlies Country Red and there 1978 Cabernet
Sauvengin. They have a Chardonnay that they sell 1 bottle
per person that is soooooo good that you have to have a
bottle to believe it. (With my wife we managed to get 4
bottles by having another couple give up there right to
there bottles.) This is only sold out of the winery, and
just going there for the Chardonnay is worth the trip!.

If you're traveling around in the Napa valley, I hear (from my parents)
that the Yountville Hotel in Yountville is very nice. It's extremely small,
so call ahead.

Speaking of Yountville, don't forget to eat at the Yountville Diner.
Also, the St. George Restaurant in St. Helena is great.
