I have had excellent luck with Auslesen of the 1971 and 1976 vintages recently. The 71s have clearly peaked, but many Mittel Mosels seem still to have enticing bouquets and fine if light flavor. The better 71 Saar Auslesen are very (perhaps too) intense but even more enjoyable. The 76s still seem to be on the upswing, at lesat those protected by an abundance of sugar.
