One thing I miss since moving from Buffalo, N.Y. (are those groans I hear out there?) is my favorite wine shop. I could walk in and, on most days, talk directly to one of the buyers who had visited the vineyards and would give honest recommendations for my taste. I could describe my needs and 8 times out of 10 they would suggest something suitable - and generally at a fair price. Now I live in the wonderful and affluent western suburbs of the great metropolis of Chicago and I cannot find a wine outlet with a clerk who can do more than separate wine from gin. It seems that all the stores are stocked out of a Sears catalog by someone who prefers to drink highballs. Can anyone out there suggest a good source in the western 'burbs? I have had very good luck finding what I want, and their recommendations have proved faultless.
