#N:uicsl:13100004:000:325 uicsl!twt Jan 26 17:09:00 1984 Speaking of Champagne. Does anyone know of any good champagne that comes in 1/2 bottles. I enjoy Champagne, but there's only my husband and myself to drink it. I hate wasting part of a full bottle, but I hate myself even more (the next morning) if I drink half of a full bottle. It has been our experience that many wineries producing champagne distribute splits (approximately half a fifth (= tenth)). The problem seems to be that the purveyors of such commodities to the public don't seem to think that they can sell such an item. Some of the more expensive imports can be found in split sizes, probably because the price for a fifth is too high for most folks. I have seen Cordon Rouge and Moet et Chandon in splits. I have also seen Christian Brothers Brut, Paul Masson, and (Lord forgive them) Le Domaine in splits. #N:inmet:9900003:000:250 inmet!fitch Feb 14 15:42:00 1984 I have a special cap for a champagne bottle that will keep the fizz in for a few days. It's really great. If you look around, I'm sure you could find one too. Geoff Fitch Intermetrics, Inc. ...{harpo|ima|esquire}!inmet!fitch

It would be very interesting to know the manufacturer's name and other pertinent identification of your champagne bottle stopper. I have not seen very many of them available, particularly not ones that were better than my previous stopper which I found buried in the bottom of the freezing compartment's drip tray the morning after its first use. Glad you are enjoying yours, though. -- TJ (with Amazing Grace) The Piper ...uw-beaver!ssc-vax!tjj
