[net.wines] inexpensive wine

Add one more vote for Trakia Merlot as an outstanding value in a
red. A couple of others in the $2.99 category here in Ohio are
Premiat Pinot Noir (a very soft, easy to drink red - good way to
introduce friends to real wine), and Gallo (impossible you say?)
RESERVE Burgundy (under the Wine Cellars label - better than their
$5 Limited Release Cabernet).

I just got a hold of my first 83 Germans, and I recommend looking
into them. I got a 1 liter (1 1/3 regular bottles) Kabinett made
from Muller-Thurgau (sp?) grapes for $3.99, and found it to be a
strong candidate for my main summer quencher. It's not quite as
firm or appley as those made from riesling, but a good intro to
what promises to be an excellant vintage from Germany.
