If you're a beer lover and you're going to be in Colorado June 1 or 2, consider attending: The Great American Beer Festival (TM) (The name is a trademark of the American Homebrewers Association.) This festival will feature 75 beers from 44 American breweries. Many of these beers are otherwise available only in small areas of the U.S. A number of microbreweries are represented here. (Sierra Nevada brewery took first and second place in last year's voting by those attending the festival.) I believe that this is the largest festival of its kind in the U.S. in terms of number of beers available. The variety is amazing, and it includes a number of bocks, porters, stouts, and other out-of-the-insipid- mainstream styles. Beers to be served are chosen by a group from the AHA. The festival caps off the annual conference of the American Homebrewers Association; it's their primary fund-raising event. Details: Currigan Exhibition Hall, Denver, CO. 1830-2230, June 1,2, 1984 I'll post the results of the voting on beers after the festival. -- ...A friend of the devil is a friend of mine.
