[net.wines] Zins available in Boston

kinmonth@null.DEC (06/04/84)

A while ago I asked for comments on people's favorite Zinfandels. Lots
of replies were posted; thanks for all the info. Most of the replies were
from people in California who have a rather obvious advantage when it
comes to obtaining Zinfandel (as I understand it, California has more
or less a monopoly on Zinfandel production).
My problem is that I live in the Boston area (not generally known
for its production of fine wines... :-) ). I hope all you California
dwellers realize how lucky you are to be able to "drop in" on your
favorite vineyard during the weekend.

The wine store I usually go to has a pretty good selection, but many
of the Zins mentioned in the replies are unknown to New England.
So, I have compiled a list of Zins available here. I would appreciate any
comments on any that folks out there may have tried. I have included
prices so that "dollar-value" judgements may be made. After all, one can
expect less from a $4 bottle than a $9 bottle. All prices are for 750ml
unless otherwise noted. Listed in order of price.
