[net.wines] Lytton Springs Zins et. al.

trogers@sun.uucp (Tom Rogers) (09/25/84)

Lytton Springs has been making some of the best California zins for several
years. Their '78s are superb, and they are better than their '79s which are
better than their '80s. There are several other wineries that consistently make
good zins. One of these is Dehlinger, who makes what I would consider an
archtypical California zin. No discussion of good zins would be complete
without talking about Ridge. Their more recent offerings are in a lighter style
but no less enjoyable than their power-house zins of old -- the newer releases
(1979 and after) just have to be enjoyed a little sooner than say their '73s.
Other recent zins of note are from Cassayre-Forni, Joseph Phelps, and Burgess.
